Surround and Carpet Protectors

Can you use a carpet protector after you have cleaned with Surround?

Yes. Surrounds cleaning technology will not affect the protector. Conventional protectors bring into solution whatever water-soluble residue is present on the fiber; the molecules in the protector will not generally be affected by this. They will orient themselves normally and provide the protection that they are designed to provide. Surrounds cleaning agents are water-soluble as most carpet protectors are water based.

Does it matter if the carpet just cleaned with Surround is wet or dry?

Whether the carpet is still wet or dry it will not affect the protector. There is generally so little of our cleaning agent left on the fiber (it is in the encapsulant) that the protector overwhelms or displaces it completely.
