If you mix the same gallon of concentrate to only 1 gallon you reduce your added water by 66%. Now your 4 gallons of RTU just became 2 gallons – not a good deal? But wait. Your coverage just went up 100 percent from 400 to 800 square feet of coverage per RTU gallon.

The good side? You reduced your added moisture per square foot of carpet by 50% (we have to count the gallon of concentrate) so in theory you have also reduced your dry time by 50%. The down side? The # 2 tip increases the size of the droplet and reduces the amount in the air. This reduces the strength of the scent and is also safer for the technician as a mist is less or unlikely to be misted into the air to be breathed in. Remember there is a difference between smelling the scent of something and breathing in the actual chemical due to a mist. When properly applied in most cases grooming should not be required. However if the situation is more delicate or the carpet is very thick or plush grooming may be desirable as it will distribute Guardian more evenly.
